Christie Angel to Lead BroadView Talent Partners’ Midwest Office

Ohio native seeks to drive organizational change by placing exceptional talent

Wednesday, May 3, 2023 (Columbus - OH) – A leader by example, Christie Angel has spent three decades engaging her community, building relationships, and advising leaders, all while transforming programs and organizations. Next, this former Columbus CEO of the Year will bring her insight, experience, and perspective to BroadView Talent Partners, serving as Managing Partner of the executive search firm’s Midwest office in Columbus, OH.

“Christie is perhaps one of the most naturally-gifted board governance, advisory, and leadership development professionals with whom I have had the pleasure of working and observing,” states Tracy McMillan, CEO and Managing Partner. “Her multidimensional leadership tenures, deep experience serving nonprofits, commitment to DEI, and proven dedication to transforming organizations make her a natural fit for our firm.”

Christie’s prior experience includes five years as President and CEO of YWCA Columbus. There, she not only generated some of the largest fundraising numbers in the organization’s history, but she reinvented their brand, a transformation in alignment with the national conversation on women’s rights, equity, and inclusion. Now, she’s found a new home with a firm rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“I got acquainted with Tracy and Broadview through a number of their local searches and was thoroughly impressed. Our philosophies align. I am very excited about the changes right now within the field of executive search that are helping to diversify talent pools,” says Christie.

Prior to the YWCA, Christie’s past professional experiences spanned the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, often intersecting with volunteer positions to find that next great leader. “I’ve had the privilege of serving on or leading a number of search committees over my career,” says Christie. “This new path allows me to utilize skills I’ve gained over time to deliver organization-wide transformation, all while growing the Columbus office and BroadView Talent Partners’ presence across the Midwest.”

Arguably, some of Christie’s greatest professional contributions involve working with a host of public officials and their administrations. Supporting the transition teams for Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, former Mayor Michael Coleman, and former Governor Ted Strickland, Christie thrived as a trusted advisor to city and state leaders. She was recruited to Deputy Chief of Staff—by former Mayor Coleman in 2012—where her citywide influence included campaign excellence, legislative impact, cabinet leadership, and strategic partnerships.

"We see an incredible opportunity to expand our reach within the Midwest,” shares McMillan. “Christie will be a major catalyst for client growth and development across the region and nationwide.”

Christie’s Columbus roots run deep. With a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Applied Communication from Franklin University, she is a contributing board member to numerous local organizations, including Campus Partners, Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, the Equity Now Coalition, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council, where she serves as board chair.

“Columbus is a growing, dynamic city,” shares Christie. “As a Midwest hub, there are a lot of opportunities both here and across the state to make a difference. I know the community well and this partnership gives us all a chance to grow.”

Christie’s leadership has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Regional Leader Award from the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission and YWCA Women of Achievement (2015). She was selected by her peers as the CEO of the Year in the large nonprofit category (2020). She was also the 2020 recipient of the Nancy Jeffrey Advocate Award from the Community Shelter Board, and was awarded the Dorothy I. Height Award from the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. – Columbus Section. Christie was inducted into the Leadership Columbus Hall of Fame in 2013.
